Session B: 1:15pm - 2:20pm

Location: Meeting Rooms 1-4

As schools work to address disproportionate suspension rates, a team of educators is collaborating with the Campbell Law Restorative Justice Clinic to implement the Circle Process in six elementary schools. This session will focus on the team from Wake County Public School System, funded by a grant from the Kellogg Foundation. The goal of this project is to partner with Title 1 schools to reduce suspension rates and build strong relationships within the school. A unique aspect of this project is the targeting of Pre-K through 3rd grade classrooms to build foundational skills with the hope of a positive impact throughout students’ schooling. This session will give practical advice and preliminary experiences on partnerships within the community to launch the Circle Process.
