Restorative Practices and the RtI Process

My name is LaShundra A. Wilson, and I am humbled and excited to serve as your presenter during this conference!

I have been an educator for the past 15 years, with the past 3 years serving in the capacity of Assistant Principal at Degan Elementary in Lewisville ISD. I am a Certified Specialist in Restorative practices, Thinking Maps trainer, STEMScopes Trainer, and serve on various district and campus committees. I also serve as our campus’ RtI Coordintor and have seen tremendous turn around in our campus’ referral to qualification percentages, as well as our campus SPED student ratios. I have also presented at other state and national conferences on the topics of trauma and restorative practices.

I received my bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Development from Texas Southern University in Houtson, TX. I received my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas at Arlington, and my Educational Administration certification from Lamar University in Beaumont. I am a life-long learner and am always continuing to learn and grow.

I am the mother of 3 amazing children, and we are a HUGE sports family! When my children aren’t on the fields playing, we are either rooting for the COWBOYS, MAVERICKS, RANGERS, or STARS (in a very loud fashion I might add).

I believe that EVERY child needs a champion! I am here to help educators meet the ever changing needs of students and show the world that connecting before correcting is essential to our work in this amazing field!
