Bridging the Gap: Restoration through Re-Entry Circles

Greetings! My name is Sandra Long. It is with great pleasure that I serve the Alief ISD community as a District Guidance Counselor. I have 18 years of experience in education and 8 years in the field of counseling. Prior to school counseling I worked in corporate America in the marketing industry. I earned my undergraduate in Marketing and Management from the University of North Texas in Denton, TX and a Master’s of Counseling from the University of Houston at Victoria. I am a proud member of the Lone Star State School Counselor Association (LSSSCA) of Texas, a division of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA). My counseling philosophy is student-centered and solution focused. I believe in a comprehensive counseling program that addresses the academic, careers, personal/social and emotional development of all students. I am a firm believer that school counselors can change the world, one child at a time. I am passionate about helping teachers and counselors learn how to collaborate and team with other educational and mental health professionals, families, and students to create school environments that support the whole child.
