Overview
An effective documentation process is crucial for improving employee performance and making informed personnel decisions. This interactive workshop will guide participants through the ED311 Texas Documentation Handbook: Appraisal, Nonrenewal, Termination. The training will focus on developing documentation to support appraisal, nonrenewal, and termination decisions.
This online training consists of 6 modules: four pre-recorded webinars for registrants to watch at their own convenience; and two live webinars scheduled with TASB HR Services experts for collaboration, hands-on activities, and Q & A.
Accreditation
This program may meet local criteria for 6 hours of school administrators’ general management training by the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) as providers of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit.

About the TASB presenters:

Cheryl Hoover
HR Consultant
Cheryl Hoover joined HR Services in 2018. She assists with staffing and HR reviews, training, and other HR projects. During Cheryl’s extensive public school career, she served as an executive director of curriculum and principal leadership, executive director of human resources, principal, assistant principal, teacher, and coach. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin while playing on the women’s basketball team and obtained her master’s degree from Texas State University. Cheryl is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR).

Jennifer Barton
HR & Compensation Consultant
Jennifer Barton joined HR Services in 2018. Jennifer assists with compensation plan development, training, and other HR projects. Prior to joining TASB, Jennifer served for 19 years in Texas public schools as principal, assistant principal, teacher, and coach. She grew up in San Antonio and attended North East ISD schools. Jennifer earned master’s degrees in education and educational leadership from The University of Texas at Austin and Lamar University, and she also holds a Texas superintendent certificate.

Karen Dooley
Senior HR Consultant
Karen Dooley joined HR Services in 2016. Karen assists with staffing and HR reviews, training, and other HR projects. She is a seasoned administrator with more than 17 years of HR experience in central Texas districts as a coordinator, director, and assistant superintendent. She also worked as an assistant principal, counselor, and teacher, and holds a superintendent certificate. Karen received her master’s degree from Prairie View A&M University and her bachelor’s degree from Texas State University. She served on school performance HR review teams beginning in 2002 in Texas and Oklahoma prior to joining TASB HR Services.

Zach Hobbs
Assistant Director
Zach joined the HR Services team in 2014. He supervises a team of consultants and provides HR consulting, including compensation plan development and staffing services, to districts throughout Texas. Prior to joining TASB, Zach was a Texas principal and teacher. He has also worked as an analyst for a national human resources consulting firm. Zach has a master’s degree from the University of Texas at Tyler, received a superintendent certificate through the Texas A&M University at Commerce, and is a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP).
