Overview

An effective documentation process is crucial for improving employee performance and making informed personnel decisions. This interactive workshop will guide participants through the ED311 Texas Documentation Handbook: Appraisal, Nonrenewal, Termination. The training will focus on developing documentation to support appraisal, nonrenewal, and termination decisions.

This online training consists of 6 modules: four pre-recorded webinars for registrants to watch at their own convenience; and two live webinars scheduled with TASB HR Services experts for collaboration, hands-on activities, and Q & A.

  • Module 201: Principles of Documentation
  • Module 301: The Marginally Effective Teacher
  • Module 401: Writing and Monitoring Intervention Plans

Accreditation

This program may meet local criteria for 6 hours of school administrators’ general management training by the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) as providers of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit.

  • Watch Modules 301 & 401 at your convenience anytime between September 4th, 2024 – September 18th, 2024 (You must complete these to join the live webinar.)
  • Wednesday, September 18th, 2024 from 10am – Noon- Join TASB experts for a live interactive training and Q&A over Modules 301 & 401
  • Finish up any content and assignments you missed by October 16th, 2024, fill out the final evaluation and upload your final assignment and then download your certificate of attendance.

About the TASB presenters:

Cheryl Hoover

HR Consultant

Cheryl Hoover joined HR Services in 2018. She assists with staffing and HR reviews, training, and other HR projects. During Cheryl’s extensive public school career, she served as an executive director of curriculum and principal leadership, executive director of human resources, principal, assistant principal, teacher, and coach. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin while playing on the women’s basketball team and obtained her master’s degree from Texas State University. Cheryl is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR).


Jennifer Barton

HR & Compensation Consultant

Jennifer Barton joined HR Services in 2018. Jennifer assists with compensation plan development, training, and other HR projects. Prior to joining TASB, Jennifer served for 19 years in Texas public schools as principal, assistant principal, teacher, and coach. She grew up in San Antonio and attended North East ISD schools. Jennifer earned master’s degrees in education and educational leadership from The University of Texas at Austin and Lamar University, and she also holds a Texas superintendent certificate.


Karen Dooley

Senior HR Consultant

Karen Dooley joined HR Services in 2016. Karen assists with staffing and HR reviews, training, and other HR projects. She is a seasoned administrator with more than 17 years of HR experience in central Texas districts as a coordinator, director, and assistant superintendent. She also worked as an assistant principal, counselor, and teacher, and holds a superintendent certificate. Karen received her master’s degree from Prairie View A&M University and her bachelor’s degree from Texas State University. She served on school performance HR review teams beginning in 2002 in Texas and Oklahoma prior to joining TASB HR Services.

Shannon Burns

HR Consultant

Shannon joined HR Services in August of 2023 as an HR Consultant. She has 22 years of experience in public school districts serving as an executive director of human resources, special programs coordinator, campus administrator, and teacher. She earned her master’s degree from Texas A&M in Kingsville and her Superintendent Certification from the University of Texas at Tyler. She is passionate about public education and is excited to serve and support district leaders throughout Texas.
